Ayurveda-the Indian system of medicine had been the way of living in the Indian sub-continent till the Western world brought with it new systems of education and medicine more than 200 years ago.

The Ayurvedic medical system had become part of tradition in India in myriad forms across the country for centuries and was practiced as the primary health care in households with advanced treatment options available with expert Ayurveda acharyas or practitioners.

While the system was neglected during the Imperial rule, India in its progress after Independence had successfully preserved such expert knowledge in Ayurveda that is now transmitted through education system.

The scientific understanding of Ayurveda infused with modern technological advances has made the Ayurvedic system the most favoured treatment option.

The major principle of Ayurvedic treatment is to follow the balance of five elements found in the Universe replicated in a fine balance inside a healthy human body.According to Ayurvedic understanding, the imbalance of the elements in a human body has a huge impact in a person’s health.

Located in Tripunithura, the erstwhile seat of Kochi King, the Centre functions in a well-located building in this suburban town of Kochi city.

The centre was set up by the disciples of the famous MarmaVaidhyan of central kerala- the late Sudheer Vaidhyar. The signature treatment programs for spinal disorders, low backache, IVDP, cervical spondylitis, arthritis and other Musculo-skeletal diseases have made the hospital a preferred destination for both international and domestic patients seeking Ayurveda treatment.

Marmachikitsa is the higher-grade treatment in Ayurveda practices available only in select centres. Marma points are specific anatomical locations in the human body through which the energy of the five elements is believed to flow. Marma therapy is the practice of stimulating these spots through gentle massage. Ayuvedic system believes that stimulation of the marma points can improve physical and mental power.
